Household & commercial guides
Full-lifecycle guides and calculators for household moves and commercial relocations — not just a single number. Start with the household or commercial guide.
Two kinds of moves, one transparent standard
Household moving
Local and long-distance calculators built from BLS wages, EIA diesel, and FMCSA linehaul benchmarks. Know the estimate before a mover ever quotes you — and the federal rights that cap what they can charge.
Household calculators →Commercial relocation
Office moves, industrial equipment rigging, employee relocation programs, and new facility build-outs — all modeled per square foot and ROM, with no lead-selling. Build a defensible budget, then get a firm bid.
Commercial calculators →Why ReloFig is different
We never sell your information
Most moving sites trade your phone number to movers for a fee. ReloFig is ad-supported only. We will never sell your information. Read our Privacy Promise.
Real, sourced numbers
Every estimate is derived from public U.S. government data — BLS wages, EIA diesel, IRS, Census — plus published industry benchmarks. We show the formula, not a black box. See methodology.
Your rights, state by state
Intrastate moving is regulated differently in every state. We map the regulator, license lookup, complaint channel, and key protections for all 50 states. Browse states.

FMCSA and state agencies receive thousands of household-goods complaints each year, often a very low estimate followed by a demand for many times the quote at the curb. Know the red flags and where to complain before you pay.
Verify any mover
Interstate movers must hold FMCSA authority and a valid USDOT number. Intrastate movers must hold the relevant state license. Check at safer.fmcsa.gov or the state regulator before paying a deposit.
Get it in writing
A written estimate (in-person or video) and a Bill of Lading are your contract. Never sign blank paperwork. Print our checklists and take them to every walkthrough.
Trusted sources we build on
ReloFig anchors its federal guidance on the FMCSA (1-888-368-7238), the U.S. DOT OIG (1-800-424-9071), BLS, EIA, IRS, and Census, plus the official state regulator for each state. Full citations on every page.
