Frequently asked questions
Lump-sum vs managed — which costs more?
Managed programs cost more outright but include services; lump-sum is a fixed cash amount the employee spends as they choose. The calculator shows both.
What is tax gross-up?
Employers often gross-up the relocation benefit so the employee isn't taxed on it; we add 25–40% for managed programs. This is a non-tax-advice estimate — confirm with your payroll/tax team.
Why does region matter?
Destination cost of living and wage levels shift managed-program pricing; we apply a regional multiplier.
Are home-sale costs included?
No. Buyer/seller closing costs and home-sale programs are excluded; they vary widely by policy and are negotiated separately.
Is this a quote?
No. Figures are benchmark averages for budgeting; actual costs depend on family size, destination, and your specific policy.
